“My tenth standard exam results, I did not go to see. My 12th standard examination results, I did not go to see.” says Sadhguru, as he jovially discusses one of the most popular questions students ask. How does one stave off exam fear?

As the year draws to an end, many students routinely find themselves stuck in a hyper-competitive bedlam. Sweaty palms, sleepless nights, and nervous butterflies herald the beginning of the examination season. Is this unpleasantness optional? After all, fear is one of the most unpleasant emotions one can experience. Is the fear of exams unavoidable and maybe even beneficial? Or is it simply a symptom of a solvable problem?

In this video, Sadhguru explains how the overarching intention behind one’s attendance at school makes all the difference. “Are you going to school to learn something or are you going to school to prove something?” he asks. He details how this choice forms a major fork in the road toward progress and has divergent consequences. How would our experience of school, and education in general, be transformed if we could skip the fear and focus on what truly matters?

“For one who wants to learn, there is no such thing as failure and there’s no such thing as success” – Sadhguru

As a plus, he touches on the veil of dullness that oft plagues classrooms and offers an interesting perspective that helps one overcome the drabness.

For those who want to take charge of their learning experience, this brief video will serve as a tool to finally shed light on the darkness of exam fear and fatigue.
