Falling in love is thought to have many stages, coupled with sunny, cloudy, and stormy days. It also usually manifests differently, depending on your age. When you are sixteen, it means one thing. When you are twenty-two, another. And at fifty, well, maturity seeps in along with a relationship history that often redefines our hopes and expectations.

Not only can age determine the meaning, but also the length of the relationship. Two days to one month, you are smitten. Six months, a little of this and that has been revealed. At the two-year mark, compromises have been established, and by the 10-year mark, it has either blossomed like a deep friendship or a feeling of resignation pervades. Having so many different forms, love is not easily defined. So what really do we mean when we say I love you?

Sadhguru discusses the “I love you” mantra and fulfilling needs. He explains that if you transcend your needs, you will naturally become loving.
