Do enlightened beings have no karma? Can ordinary people emulate their approach to handling karma? Of the many forks in the road to handling karma, which one is the easiest? In this video, Sadhguru helps elucidate these questions and offers a potent tool to handle karma effortlessly.

The word “karma” means action and all activity leads only one of two ways– liberation or bondage. Sadhguru compares bondage to a sailor throwing the anchor and exposes the real question– do we want to sail or drop the anchor? As safe as an anchor may feel, it is also very restrictive and was not designed to hasten the journey. A sail, on the other hand, can be used to steer.

As owners of our very own mind,  body and disparate karmic luggage, each of us, consciously or otherwise, is the captain of our own ship. Whether we sail the seas or stick to the safe coast is up to us alone. This is a sobering reminder of both our enormous privilege and vital responsibility. As a piece of life perceiving itself, humans have the unique ability to steer toward liberation from endlessly cyclical tendencies. But this ability is only useful to the extent that we take responsibility for it. A ship without a captain is easily lost at sea.

In this video, Sadhguru outlines why enlightened beings carry immense karma and how, despite this, his own choices are shaped not by whims but by the needs of the world. He then offers a potent tool that he calls the “simplest way to deal with your karma.”
