Protecting forests is key to remedying the expanding effects of climate change. It is also   essential in efforts to conserve wildlife and defend the rights of forest communities. Forests are an essential component of nature. They help stabilize the climate, yet forests and other critical ecosystems are hanging by a thread. Decades of exploitation have destroyed much of the Earth’s natural habitat. Globally, large areas are being continuously destroyed by industrial and other exploitative activities.

The nature of the threats to global forests often depends on the region. In the tropics, agribusiness uses forest land to make space for animal ranching or to grow feed for animals. worldwwide, the demand for wood products is still high from throwaway paper to hardwood flooring and furniture. Many parts of the world have unsympathetic governments, which makes it worse as they pave the way for logging, ignoring whether it is within the legal limits.

Recognition and acceptance of the facts are the first steps. More people need to be made aware of this crisis, and everyone can help. Are you ready to lend a hand?
