Sadhguru- yogi, mystic, bestselling author, and poet, joins Smita Prakash, Editor of Asian News International (ANI) on her podcast for a fun and lively conversation, armed with his playful wit and boundless wisdom. She poses a series of ‘rapid fire’ questions touching upon Sadhguru’s activity and involvement with life, his vision for humanity and the tools he provides for raising consciousness, along with other light-hearted topics. Here are some excerpts from their conversation:

Smita Prakash: “Do you own a phone?”

Sadhguru: “Yes, I have a phone.”

Smita Prakash: “What do you do mostly with the phone?”

Sadhguru: “It’s my office. I don’t go to any office. I handle everything on the phone today.”

Smita Prakash: “So for young people who want to seek that enlightenment and get to know themselves-”

Sadhguru: “You’re saying I’m old?

Smita Prakash: “Not at all! You are experienced in so many different ways. I’m sure you must be thinking- what is it that I do which the other people don’t do? Don’t you think that?”

Sadhguru: “ I do life. They do mental circus!”

Smita Prakash: “Do many people think that you can see the future?”

Sadhguru: “ People try, but these days they’ve given up because they know by now that if they ask such questions where I will take them.  The important thing about my life is not about predicting your future, it is about empowering you to create your future!”

Smita Prakash: “You’re one of those who has broken stereotypes, you know, of a guru, of a yogi, of a mystic person who extricates himself from the worldly life. You dance, you sing, you play golf, you motorcycle, you travel the world, you wear lovely clothes!”

Sadhguru: “Is it lovely? Thank you. I design my own clothes. I want you to know that. It’s from natural fiber. That’s a part of my mission. ‘Save the Weave’ is one of the projects that we are doing to bring back natural fiber.”

Smita Prakash: “Yes, you were at the Neeta Ambani Cultural Center. We saw you walk the red carpet there. I was saying Sadguruji and in fashion?”

Sadhguru: “They put a carpet. Carpet was red- what can I do? If it was blue then also I would walk. If it was black, then also I would walk.”

Smita Prakash: “Whom do you connect with easier? Rural folk or complicated city folk?”

Sadhguru: “ I even connect with a grasshopper as I connect with the most loved one in my life. We are misunderstanding the involvement of life to relationships. Because you’re sitting in front of me, if you ask me who’s the most important person in your life, I’ll say it’s you!”

Smita Prakash: “What makes you ecstatic? I’ve seen you in the video that went viral everywhere. You were ecstatic when you were dancing. There was so much joy! What made you feel that at that moment?”

Sadhguru: “I was not ‘at that moment’. I’m like that every moment!”

Smita Prakash: “Do you see home as in India, and are you traveling this year?”

Sadhguru: “My home is within myself so it goes with me wherever I go.”

Smita Prakash: “What is your existence right now? You lead very busy lives, you’re constantly traveling. You want to touch people’s lives and bring that blissfulness that you experienced into as many lives as you can.”

Sadhguru: “I’m just trying to rub off my experience on people. That’s all.”
