Many of us grew up reading fairy tale and superhero stories which sparked our imagination and shaped our desires positively in some way. Well-written books have the magical ability to transport us directly to the scene of the story in our mind. It is certainly possible for us to read books not just to gain knowledge but to actually put ourselves in a different pair of shoes mentally and have diverse experiences through the form of story-telling. It could be an inspiration for some people to pursue creative endeavors in their life and bring to life things they imagine in their mind. Many good movies and theater shows have been inspired by the exceptional storytelling ability of great authors and their books.

What role does the choice of books one reads have on the trajectory of their life? While it is certainly possible for one to be inspired by reading some books to pursue a positive direction in their life, it is also possible on the flip side to be influenced negatively. In today’s digital age, people have access to all kinds of books, and some of them do have a negative impact on the impressionable younger generation. It would certainly be beneficial for successful role models in various walks of life to make a list of books they read on their journey so that others can have a guide instead of wandering around aimlessly. Also, books could be targeted to different audiences based on their age group and their context in life.
