The classroom was filled with laughter and children scurrying about with different tasks. Each group was assigned to help another group if they finished first. It was a cooperative sharing of creativity and fostered teamwork. No tests, no competition to get that big red A on the paper were present. A new ambience filled the room, making the teacher beam with pride.

It is amazing and so rewarding to see children and adults joyfully learning. The experience is so different from having to hit the books and study hard. It then becomes a grind, centered on memorization and tests. Teachers are often restricted to methods that promote high test scores. It can be frustrating for both teachers and students of any age.

If learning something new is a joy, asks Sadhguru, why is schooling such a pain? He explains that we have not looked carefully enough at how we are delivering education. In order to create schools that children are excited to attend, first the adults must be schooled!
