The evil-eye is believed to be a curse cast through a malevolent glare or a spoken curse. It is usually cast upon a person without their knowledge. Many cultures believe that receiving the evil eye curse will result in misfortunes, even death.
In retaliation, many cultures have established what they believe to be protective measures against the evil eye curse. Decorations, rituals, talismans or amulets are often used to prevent the effects of any evil eye curse that may be placed unbeknownst to the curse’s recipient.
