Unfulfilled expectations are often the result of a dependency on external circumstances. When life’s challenges pop up it can be easy to succumb to the belief that we are a product of bad luck. We might even blame others and feel they are intentionally  hindering or contributing to our inability to fulfill our expectations.

Sometimes we deal with unfulfilled expectations by not only blaming others or outside events but by focusing on why and how this could happen to me. You might ask yourself why do I deserve this and why are other people faring better than me. Soon the spiral downward seems insurmountable. So, how can we prevent this self-defeating type of thinking? What are the tools we need to help fulfill our expectations?

Life does not happen because we desire something but because we enable it to happen. Sadhguru tells us that instead of building expectations, we need to equip ourselves with the necessary capabilities to accomplish what we wish. He says we can do this by building our body and mind in order to use them to the fullest extent possible for a human being.
