Even though we may know in some small way that the loss of our parent is likely to occur before our own death, it may not be any easier to accept it when it happens. If it happens suddenly and a strong bonding was present with the parent, then it can seem more traumatic and harder to deal with.

Sometimes it is easier for the children if the death of a parent is expected because of a health diagnosis; this can allow for all parties to prepare and accept the situation. But whether sudden or over a known time period, losing a parent can result in unresolved grief. How then can one cope?

When one loses a parent, how can one recover from the grief? And What can one do that would be beneficial for that being?
