Depression

Research on meditation and yoga published in peer-reviewed journals has gained momentum, increasing eight-fold from 70 studies in 2000 to 560 studies in 2011 (David Vago, Harvard Medical School). Studies show that the introduction of a meditation or yoga practice in a person’s daily life can have a substantial impact on recovery from illness, and at the very least, can greatly improve how they mentally and emotionally relate to their illness. Yoga and meditation enables optimal functioning with greater ease by reducing stress and anxiety, and alleviating or relieving symptoms of long-standing ailments and diseases like depression.

Yoga & Meditation

What is Yoga? If you speak about yoga, people think it’s about twisting yourself into many different postures. It’s become a “new” form of exercise. But this is not what yoga is. Yoga literally means union. Union with what? The union is with the whole life that is happening around us and within us. When people hear the word meditation, they may think of silencing the mind. Sadhguru says, “Meditation is not a certain act, it’s a quality. If you become this quality, the fragrance of meditation will live with you every moment of your life.”

Sadhguru offers ancient science of yoga in all its depth and dimensions, in a variety of programs that provide methods for anyone to attain physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
