For centuries, Eastern cultures have viewed squatting as being just as normal as walking. People who can easily squat always live with the convenience of being able to rest, work, or eat without the necessity of chairs.

Today it is widely accepted that squatting can have health benefits. Squatting has been known to strengthen legs, improve posture, improve ankle mobility and flexibility, reduce tight calves, and improve digestion. But that is on the physical level; what other benefits can be reaped by practicing squatting?

Sadhguru speaks about the significance of squatting in Yoga, which exercises the spine and enhances one’s clarity and, in turn, one’s intelligence. He also gives us a simple practice which results in the overall well-being of the body.
