Cartoons are just as violent today as they were years ago. Unfortunately, modern technology has enabled cartoons and other violence-imbedded venues to reach more children today than in the past. Advances in graphics seem to have exacerbated the negative effects. Almost every child has access to a computer on which to either view media or play games.
Hours of playing violent video games and watching violent movies or clips have been known to desensitize children to real violence. It is a very thin line that separates fiction from reality. In addition, technological gadgets, such as tablets, cell phones, and other similar devices have empowered children to communicate almost anonymously and have contributed to the spread of media violence. Direct person-to-person conversations and relationships have decreased due to the vast online capabilities now available. The effects on today’s youth are devastating.
During a conversation between Telugu actor Nani and Sadhguru, Sadhguru answers a question on the rising popularity of movies and TV shows that display violence and sexuality and if there is a need for more control on these.
