There’s one thing that all of us have in common as human beings:

We all want to have a rich experience of life.

People go about this in different ways – they set goals for what they want to accomplish in their career, their family, their relationships, and other areas of life. People make resolutions to travel more, run marathons, and more. Accomplishing these goals can be invigorating and fun, but there’s plenty of research to show that achieving goals won’t bring long term happiness.

The reality is, even if all of your goals are accomplished, you would still come up with something else that you long for. Many people work hard to be successful in their career, get married, have kids, and then set the goal of having their kids accomplish those same things. They assume that becoming successful and accomplishing goals will lead to happiness by default. Unfortunately, many realize the truth later in life after they’ve been “successful” everything they set out to do, and still haven’t found deep happiness or fulfillment.

We’re told from a young age that outside situations are what create inner happiness. It’s a big reason why people work so hard their whole lives in pursuit of success – they think it will translate to happiness.

In this video, Sadhguru shares a different way of thinking about it. Could there be a different way to experience happiness? Could it be possible to experience it from within, without depending on any outside source? Could it be possible to cultivate it yourself without having to put it off until later?

Watch the video below for Sadhguru’s take on this topic, and why now is the perfect time to begin your journey for self-exploration and how you can find the source of your own happiness:
