Sadhguru has often explained the essential need to appreciate our planet and shift from compulsiveness to a conscious way of living: “This is a fantastic planet – it has nurtured not one or two life forms, but millions. The sheer variety of life, of animals, birds, plants, insects, worms, and microbes that we have on this planet is mind-boggling…. The longing to expand is compulsive. Because we have not found any other vehicle through which we can expand, we naturally think that exploiting physical resources is the only way.”
Environmental activist Fernanda Cortez hosted a talk with Vanessa Nakate, climate activist; Stefan Schmitz, Crop Trust’s executive director; and Sadhguru, a yogi, visionary, and mystic. The talk centered on drought-risk management, natural-resource management, and social protection. It also included the importance of creating a stable climate, maintaining food security, and making space for nature. Sadhguru emphasized the need to plant trees and how they can be used in conjunction with crop management as well as providing listeners a guided meditation. He talked about the essential need to raise consciousness and transform our actions from a destructive or compulsive mode to a harmonious state of being.
