If you have ever been nagged by your child who wants what they want when they want it, then you know how hard it can be, sometimes, to say no. Or maybe your friend made a request of you that you really felt you did not want to do, but you found it impossible to say no. You just didn’t want to disappoint or not support them.

The word no usually has a negative connotation surrounding it. People want to hear a yes in most of their endeavors. A no seems like a blockade, like something that forces you to stop and regroup, and not necessarily in a self-reflective way, but because what you want just won’t happen. It is clouded with disappointment. For that reason, sometimes we don’t want to crush someone’s wish and find it difficult to say no. Have you ever found yourself in that situation? Maybe you even covered it up with the word maybe.

What to do when you are finding it difficult to say “no” to people?
