In August of last year, some scientists predicted that by June 2021 the world would still be dealing with the pandemic. Lockdowns would maybe seem more normal, and vaccines would have been developed, but they would only offer six months of protection. It was then estimated that 250 million people worldwide would have become infected and 1.75 million would die from COVID.
How do these predictions compare with the statistics as of Mid-May 2021? There have been 163 million cases worldwide and 3.37 million deaths; several vaccines have been developed, but the time span of their efficacy is unknown; lockdowns are less frequent; and masks are still required in certain situations, even if you have been vaccinated. The important takeaway is that the pandemic is still here, though more or less, depending on your location. It has been a very difficult challenge that still looms over each one of us.
Sadhguru looks at a few fundamental things that all citizens can do for themselves and those around them to ensure that these challenging times do not overwhelm and overpower us.
